Dominion Residence
This 4400 square foot home in the Dominion of San Antonio was built in the 90s and recently purchased by a bachelor who loves the outdoors. The goal was to modernize the house and use elements that would bring the outdoors in. The clear story window that was added in the shower allows for a view of the trees outside while still giving privacy. A wood veneered floating vanity and real agate stones in the shower niche keep this contemporary space from feeling sterile. The steam shower is perfect after workouts, and the water that fills the tub falls from the ceiling.
The European style kitchen cabinets are a combination of black and wood grain, creating a dramatic look. The back-splash is a raked limestone which gives a soft and organic feel to the space. Natural agate is added in to create a random decorative pattern that adds interest and complements the limestone. Wood floors bring warmth to the space keeping it sleek but cozy.
A pass-through window was added in order to serve guests gathering at the pool just outside. A raised live-edge wood bar top makes for a stunning compliment to the wood floors and agate back-splash. A floating cabinet with glass on both sides allows for storage of glassware while allowing the natural light to still pass through.
